sink without faucet holes

Have bathroom vessel sinks without overflow. Do I buy a drain with overflow to compensate for no overflow on sinks, or do I buy a drain without overflow? Conflicting information on the internet. Without accidentally cracking the entire thing? Thanks for any replies. If you guys tell me it is impossible without likely damaging the rest of the sink, then I will just have to look for a new faucet. Edit: Forgot to mention that the type of sink has 3 faucet holes (although this danze faucet only... The faucet mounting holes are inside this rim on most rimmed sinks.
